Double Take

The Experience Music Project's (EMP) latest double take art exhibition, "From Monet to Lichtenstein" will continue through 24 September 2006.

This particular pairing includes both Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings from Paul Allen's private collection. Housed within the EMP's walls, this is a particularly good way to see both artworks and the other exhibits at EMP, which you can do with the purchase of a dual exhibition ticket.

The campus includes EMP, the Science Fiction Museum, and the Double Take exhibition. Tickets for all three run $33.00.

Seattle Art Museum :: Three Projects - Artwork

Seattle Art Museum :: Three Projects - Artwork

The new Olympic Sculpture Park expansion of the Seattle Art Museum is due to open in October of this year. The waterfront portion of the park, which will be near the Pier 66 cruise terminal on the Seattle waterfront, will be open 24/7/365, and will be home to a number of significant pieces of art, seen on the above linked website. Hours for the balance of the park can be seen on the website as well.

The main SAM downtown is not scheduled to reopen until 2007, but museum activities continue at the Seattle Asian Museum, located in Volunteer Park, nearby downtown Seattle.

All of these projects have been underway for over a year now, and the reopening of the main museum promises to be well worth the wait. In the mean time, visit the other two locations when you are in town.
